Syllabus of SBI-PO Recruitment 2014

SBI-PO exam includes both multiple type questions and descriptive paper. Total marks including descriptive exam is 250.
  • Objective type Paper : 200 Marks
  • Descriptive Paper: 50 Marks

Objective type exam consists of four sections:

  • English Language
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation
  • Reasoning
  • General Awareness, Computers and Marketing.

Descriptive Exam

Descriptive exam is of half an hour and it can be about anything discussed
  • Essay writing
  • Letter writing
  • Paragraph writing
  • Precise writing

English section

This section basically covers comprehensions, faulty sentences, jumbled sentences, closed passages etc.
  • Reading Comprehensions
  • Vocabulary
  • English usage errors
  • English proficiency

Data Analysis and Data interpretation

This section checks numerical ability and data analysis ability of candidates. This section involves:

1. Quantitative aptitude
2. Data Sufficiency
3. Data Interpretation

Logical Reasoning section

This section involves:
  • Syllogism
  • Analytical reasoning
  • Problems  based on ages
  • Blood relationships
  • Analogy
  • Odd man out
  • Coding Decoding
  • Series
  • Seating arrangements
  • Problems based on symmetry
  • Problems based on visual ability
  •  Statement assumptions, arguments, conclusions etc
  • Direction test

General Awareness, Computers and Marketing

This section basically consists of following type of topics. But there is no proper syllabus of this section:
  • Current affairs
  • General studies (History, Geography, Polity, Science, Economics etc)
  • Banking
  • Marketing
  • Computer awareness
Note: There can be some changes in this syllabus. But only slight variations will be there.
